Connecticut Jays @ Winnipeg Goldeyes
Series Preview:	Connecticut has really good pitching for a last place team. Winnipeg gave up traded away the pen and McGwire. But as since played amazing winning 14 in a row. Will it continue likely not but a series win seems possible.
Game #1:	Crazy Winnipeg score 5 in the 9th to time and 2 in the 10th to win. huskey hit two in the loss and Mo Vaughn one, Winnipeg got longballs from Lofton and O’Neill. Winnipeg 10 – Connecticut 8 in 10 Innings.
Game #2:	Buhner homers and Schillings gets the win in relief. 4-1 Winnipeg.
Game #3:	Connecticut gets mad Mo Vaughn 2 homers, J-gone, Piazza, and grieve out blast Winnipegs O’Neil and Lopez. Connecticut 12 Win 6 streak ends.
Game #4:	Jays leave 16 on base as Winnipeg wins 2-1 in 14 innings. Lopez walk off homer.
Game #5:	Woodward hits a 2 run homer int he 9th but not enough as Lofton and Vizquel homer for Winnipeg. Winnipeg 11 Connecticut 4
Game #6:	Vaughn and Juan-Gone homer as Connecticut wins 6-3 Ventura’s homer not enough.
Series Summary:	Winnipeg wins 4 of the 6 to stay in the final wild card picture. Player of the week Connecticut Mo Vaughn 4 homers 8 RBIs Pitcher of the weeK Winnipeg Schilling 1-0 9.2 Innings & No Earned Runs.

Long Beach Titans @ Manhattan Gas Hornets
Series Preview:	Cross Country match between Long Beach and Manhattan. Schedule is getting tough, Manhattan will need to rely on their bats as they face a hard hitting and throwing Titans team….
Game #1:	28 hits, 26 runs and if it weren’t for an 11 run 5th for Manhattan they would have lost. And they came close anyway. It was 5-4 Long Beach when the 5th happened, but then 5 from the Titans in the 6th dampered the home team spirits. But they were able to hang on for the 16-10 win. David Justice drives in 5 for Long Beach with 2 homers (32), Chad Kretuer knocks in 2 more against his former team. Garrett Anderson got 1 hit – but it was a grand slam! Tony Graffanino got a PH 3 run shot (1) as part of that big mix. The starters were ineffective but both figure in the decision. Derek Jeter will miss tomorrow’s game after Hasagawa nailed him with a pitch. LBT 10-14-1 LP Jose Mercedes (7-2) MGH 16-14-1 WP Brian Anderson (5-5)
Game #2:	Another familiar face showed up as the starter for Long Beach in this one – Mark Gardner – and he tosses a nice 5 hitter (7.1 ip) with 5 ks. He gets a quick 2 runs as Hammonds singles to start the game and Petrick follows with a homer (2). Manhattan gets their only run in the 4th and then Lee homers (16) in the 7th to add some insurance. In a suprisingly low scoring game, the Titans win it 3-1. Former Gas Hornet LaTroy Hawkins closes it out with a 5 out save. Game #3:	Rick Reed gets the start for Manhattan and pitches a 4 hit gem (8 ip) allowing no runs. Jeter was back and went 4 for 4, scoring twice. Long Beach tried to take him down again, but he brushed off the HBP and actually smiled on his way to 1st. Part-timer John Wehner drives in 2 with a double in the 5-0 Gas Hornets win. Mitch Meluskey gets 2 hits for the Titans. LBT 0- 5-0 LP Rusch (10-6) MGH 5-11-0 WP Reed (10-3)
Game #4:	Shocker – 21 hits, but only 3 runs in this one (17 LOB). Jeter gets 2 more hits and scores in the 1st, Burrell singles in the tying run for Long Beach in the 5th. And then Adrian Brown singles in the 9th. Tino Martinez moves him to 3rd with a double and Luis Alicea gets the walk-off single in a crazy, 2-1 low scoring but potent game. Game #5:	Back to normal – 24 hits, 16 runs! 6 Long Beach dingers, 2 by Glenallen Hill (18, 19) and 2 by Dave Justice (33, 34) – another 2 homer game – both solo shots however. Hill and Justice drive in 5 runs, the Gas Hornets score 6. So homers by Jose Vidro (20) and Ben Petrick (3) help the Long Beach cause as the Titans pull out the 10-6 win in a game they never trailed. 3 in the 1st and up 6-2 after 3. Rick Ankiel goes 7 for the win. Derek Jeter goes 3 for 4 with 2 rbis – and he and Justice are on a challenge for Player of the Week! Game #6:	Jose Mercedes and Brian Anderson square off for a rematch and well, it was a wonder Mercedes lasted 3.2 innings. He gives up 3 runs in the 1st on 1 hit – and a gazillion walks. Another run in the 2nd and 1 in the 4th – but by now after 20 batters faced, he’s walked SEVEN of them. Anderson for his part was pitching very well leaving after 6.1 giving up 4 hits, 2 walks and 2 runs (1 in 3rd, 1 in 7th). Jose Jimenez comes in for Long Beach in the 7th and gives up 3 straight hits and a run – eventually 2 – and he’s pulled after his 3 batters. So it’s 7-2 after 7 and well Mike Williams has his own 3 batter problems in the 8th, can’t get them out. Bring in Fyhrie – he has some issues, and when the dust settles, Long Beach has plated 4 runs to cut it to 7-6! When Hasegawa has his own control issues, walking 2 in the 8th along with a hit, we think lots of insurance, but only 1 run scores. But at 8-6 we should hold it. And we do, but Donnie Wall did get our heart thumping as he gives up a hit and walk and faces David Justice with 2 outs in the 9th and he’s the winning run! But he pops him out to end the game. Series Summary:	Gas Hornets manage a 4-2 win in a wild series. And Justice and Jeter put up some pretty big numbers: Justice – 8 for 25, 8 rbis, 6 runs, 4 Homer. .320/.370/.880 for ops of 1.250 in 6 games Jeter – 12 for 18, 2 rbis, 6 runs, 3 doubles, .667/.739/.833 for ops of 1/572 in 5 games (3 HPB – and missed game 2) Interesting to see if either of these guys gets the Player of the week and where the formula puts the big emphasis!! Either way, they were not wanted to be seen in the batters boxes by the opposition. And Jeter ends the week batting .401!!

Monroeville Maulers @ Castle Rock Hounds
Series Summary:	Castle Rock splits 3-3 with Monroeville. Only one game was decided by less than 4 runs. Not a real nail-biter.

Michigan Mauraders @ Santa Rosa Beach Bums
Series Preview:	The Bums welcome the Mauraders to the Emerald Coast for a 6 game set .
Game #1:	The Mauraders call on Clement (3-8, 7.12) and the Bums Vazquez (5-4, 6.13). Bums start fast as Alomar drew a walk, Koskie rolled an infield hit and Thomas went deep. Bums 3-0. Bums fill the bases again in the 1st before Molina grounded into a double play. Alomar added a solo shot in the 2nd. Mauraders get one back in the 3rd on singles by Guzman and Anderson and a RBI ground out by Pamiero. After an intentional walk to Edmonds, Boone banged an RBI single. Bums 5-2. In the bottom half Berkman and Rios leadoff with walks followed by a Encarnacion single for one. Molina single for a second. Loretta reached on a Schneider error for a third. Thomas double with 2-out for a fourth and fifth. The Mauraders come right back in the 4th with a 5-spot chasing Vazquez. Bums 9-7. Bums add a 10th in the 5th on a Loretta walk, advance and Koskie single. Palmiero and Edmonds walked chasing Ortiz in the 6th. Singleton was beamed and Castillo stroked a 2-run double. Bums 10-9. Singleton tied the game scoring on an infield grounder. After a Guzman walk, Anderson singled, Mauraders 11-10. In the 7th Boone went deep giving the Mauraders a 2-run lead. With 2-out in the bottom half Loretta doubled and Alomar singled him home. In their next at bat Schneider reached via error, Guzman and Anderson drew walks and Williams reached on an error for one with 0-out. Palmiero doubled for two more. Williams scored on a sacrifice fly for another. Mauraders 16-11. The Bums seem to have a lot of softball games this season. Koskie doubled in the bottom half and Thomas singled setting up another rally, but Hildalgo grounded into a double play scoring Koskie. Game #2:	After everyone gets a good night’s rest. The Mauraders go with Radke (6-5, 4.40) and the Bums (2-9, 7.95). In the 1st Bums Koskie singled and with 2-out Hidalgo doubled him home. In the 4th Bums Rios leadoff with a triple and scored on a Molina sacrifice fly. In the 6th Mauraders Singleton and Edmonds walked and Williams went yard. Mauraders 3-2. In the bottom half Loretta singled, Sanders doubled and Alomar lifted a sacrifice fly. Tie game. In the 8th Vanderwal doubled, Rios was intentionally walked and with 2-out pinch hitter Berkman stroked a 2-run double. Game #3:	After the suspenseful game in a different way the Mauraders sent L Hernandez (6-8, 6.42) to the mound to face Bums A Fernandez (3-2, 4.75). In the 4th Bums Hidalgo, Berkman and Encarnacion lead off with singles for one. And with 2-out Darr singled for another. And Alomar for another. Bum 3-0. In the 7th Bums Alomar tripled and scored on a Thomas sacrifice fly. In the 8th Mauraders Boone, Guzman and Anderson singled for one. To lead off the 9th Mauraders Palmiero walked and Lieberthal went yard. Bums 4-3. Michigan 3 7 0 LP: L Hernandez 2b: Singleton, B Boone; HR: Lieberthal; SH: Guzman; Sb: Singleton. Game #4:	More suspense and fewer and fewer offense. The Mauraders will use O Hernandez (10-5, 3.65) against Bums Rigdon (2-4, 5.34). In the 4th Palmiero singled and A Boone went yard. Mauraders 2-0. In the 5th Bums Loretta doubled and Molina singled him home. The other Boone lead off the 6th with a solo shot. In the 7th Guzman triple and Anderson rolled one through a drawn in inield, Mauraders 4-1. Michigan 4 10 0 WP: O Hernandez 3b: Guzman; HR: A Boone, B Boone; H: Telford; S: Wickman. Santa Rosa Beach 1 7 0 LP: Rigdon 2b: Alomar, Loretta.
Game #5:	The anemia became worse. Mauraders look to Penny (6-8, 6.97) to keep the momentum and the Bums Vazquez (5-4, 6.51) to redeem himself. The Mauraders start fast in the 1st as Singleton walked, Edmonds singled and Palmiero banged an RBI single. The Bums came right back in the bottom half with an Alomar leadoff double followed by a Koskie RBI single. Thomas and Hidalgo then singled to fill the bases with 0-out. Vanderwal singled to right for another. 0-out. Rios followed with a 2-run single, 0-out. In the 2nd Mauraders B Boone doubled, Guzman walked and Singleton went yard. Tie game. In the bottom half Loretta and Koskie singled and Hidalgo brought them home with a 3-rum blast. Bums 7-4. Here we go! Again. In the 3rd Mauraders filled the bases with 0-out. B Boone doubled for two, 0-out. Vazquez chased early again. Alomar lead off the 4th with a solo shot, Bums 8-6. In the 5th the Mauraders place Williams and Palmiero on before Guzman stroked a 2-out 3-run homer. Mauraders 9-8. In the 6th Mauraders Singleton doubled, Edmonds walked and Williams singled for one. In the bottom half Alomar stroke a 2nd homer to bring the Bums within one. Michigan 10 12 0 WP: Rekar 2b: B Boone 2, Anderson, Singleton; HR: Singleton, Guzman; H: White, S: Wickman. Santa Rosa Beach 9 13 0 LP: De Los Santos 2b: Alomar; HR: Alomar 2, Hidalgo; Sb: Sanders.
Game #6:	The Mauraders go with Clement (3-8, 7.58) and the Bums try to get a split with Bohanon (2-9, 7.70). And Mauraders Anderson had something to say about that leading off with a solo shot. The Bums get a run in the 3rd when Molina and Alomar singled and Thomas and Hidalgo walked. Tie Game. In the 6th Palmiero doubled, advanced on a ground out and scored on a A Boone roller through a drawn in infield. Mauraders 2-1. After two walks to fill the bases and a second fan running around the field. Bums Koskie threw the runner out at home. And tagged third for the last out. In the bottom half Thomas walked, Vanderwal singled, pinch hitter Caminiti walked, and pinch hitter Berkman walked for one and to tie the game. De ja vu. In the 7th Koskie, Thomas and Hidalgo singled for one. In the 8th Mauraders Edmonds and A boone single with 0-out. But Sasaki held. Game #1:	Randy Johnson allows just 2 hits over 8 innings and Durazo delivered a big 3-run shot in the 4th to bust the game open. VB 1 BDB 5 W: Johnson (15-1) L: Heredia (4-7)
Game #2:	Bandits ambush Hentgen in the 3rd with a 4-spot. After 7 full it was 7-0 Blarney. Bombers tally 2 in the 8th off an Abreu homer. VB 2 BDB 7 W: Hampton (9-4) L: Hentgen (7-6)
Game #3:	Bombers strike early for 3 in the 1st. By the end of the 5th Blarney had knotted it up 4-4. Herges gets the last 10 outs alllowing just 2 base runners to hold Valdosta scoreless while Swindell was touched for one run in the 7th. VB 4 BDB 5 W: Herges (6-1) L: Swindell (1-5)
Game #4:	Blarney scores 3 in the 1st and extends the lead to 4-0 until the 5th when Valdosta plates 3. Blarney would add runs in the 5th and 6th to build a 6-3 lead. The Bombers drill Weathers hard for 3 in the 7th to tie the game. But Petkovsek imploded in the 7th allowing the difference making runs. VB 6 BDB 8 W: Weathers (4-2) L: Petkovsek (2-6) S: Howry (11)
Game #5:	Crazy first inning with Valdosta scoring 4 and Blarney 3. Game would be ties 5-5 after 5 full. Helling faltered badly in the 6th allowing 2 HRs and 5 runs to allow Blarney to build a 10-5 lead. The Bombers would battle back and score 1 in the 7th and 2 on the 8th, unfortunately, their pitchers would allow the same. Teams combine for 27 hits. Game #6:	Heredia escapes a lot of traffic on the bases to allow just 3 runs over 6.2 innings. Simas would lock down the last 7 outs to secure a Valdosta victory. Ramirez 2-3 w/ 4 RBI led Bombers bats. Blarney out hit the visitor 14-7 but could not put runs across. VB 6 BDB 3 W: Simas (3-3) L: Weathers (4-3)
