Game #5:	Baltimore tees off on another Newark starter, this time Kris Benson, collecting 7 runs on 6 hits and 6 walks over 4 innings, but it would take a 10th inning run to secure the victory. Game #6:	Exciting, back and forth affair, that the Crab fans thought they had after Tony Batista hit a pinch-hit 3-run homerun (19) in the bottom of the 8th to put Baltimore up 7-6. But Newark would rally with 4 in the 9th to put the game away. Mike Piazza hit 2 longballs (#s 43 & 44), singled, and knocked in 6 to pace the Bears’ offense. Series Preview:	Manhattan hopes for the best vs Hollywood as they try to stay close to Santa Rosa and also stay in the Wild Card hunt.
Game #1:	Big Manhattan win as Derek Jeter slams 2 homers (15) and drives in 6, Tino Martinez also homers (29) and Damian Jackson doubles in 3. Deivi Cruz slams 2 for the Vampires but Hollywood falls 12-4. WP Tim Wakefield (11-7), LP Odalis Perez (1-5) Gas Hornets lose another body – Lenny Harris for 12 days!
Game #2:	6 run 8th turns Gas Hornets 2 run deficit into a 4 run win! And it was against the good relievers! Mike Stanley (15) drives in 2 with a homer and Ruben Rivera (16) also homers, but Derek Jeter (16) and Rico Brogna (12) rocket balls out of the part as part of the big rally. FINAL 8-4 Manhattan. LP Steve Montgomery (1-5) BS (1); WP Matt Mantei (4-1) S Bobby Chouinard (1) In what was NOT RETALIATION for the Harris injury – Kevin Millar goes down with a 13 day injury.
Game #3:	Great starts by Roy Halladay (8 ip, 3 hits, NO RUNS) and John Halama (9 ip, 6 hits, NO RUNS) keeps the game close (yeah, 0-0) but then a Rico Brogna 2 run walk-off homer (13) in the 11th wins it 2-0 for Manhattan. WP Pat Mahomes (3-6); LP Steve Lowe (4-4)
Game #4:	Gas Hornets do it again – this time a 5 run 8th wins it 6-2. 6 hits, 5 walks, and that’s the ball game. Dave Howard smacks his 1st homer of the season for Hollywood. Freddy Garcia (9-13) takes the loss, John Wetteland (4-1) wins it in relief.
Game #5:	Gas Hornets take a breather and win this one by scoring a lot early, up 6-2 after 3 (4 run 3rd). Rico Brogna with a homer (14), double and 3 rbis leads the way. Ruben Rivera (17) homers for the Vamps! Rick Reed, who’s been pitching horrendously this year, gets the win and somehow is 10-6). Jason Isringhausen absorbs the loss (3-8).
Game #6:	Manhattan manages the sweep in a wild and wholly finale. Down 6-0 after 3 – Mike Stanley 3 rbis, Cliff Floyd 3 hits, 2 runs, rbi and a Ruben Rivera homer (18) lead Hollywood. Then the Gas Hornets come back with back to back 4 run innings in the 5th and 6th – Matt Stairs (29) a 3 run shot. Kevin Sefcik and Craig Wilson each with 2 rbis and Brian Banks fills in a C with 2 hits, 2 walks and 3 runs! Then an 8th inning single run provides insurance as Hollywood plates 2 in the 9th to bring the final to 9-8 Manhattan! And Hollywood had the tying and winning runs on base in the 9th! Pat Mahomes (4-6) gets the win an Matt Mantei (11) the save. Odalis Perez (1-6) couldn’t hang on and gets the loss.
Series Summary:	A much needed sweep for the Gas Hornets BUT another injured player!
