Southlake Scorpions @ Fort Worth Panthers |
|
|---|---|
| Series Summary: | After taking game 1 the Scorpions stung that Panther’s with 5 straight wins. |
Connecticut Jays @ Hampton Huskies |
|
|---|---|
| Series Preview: | Two bottom feeders meet up for six games that must interest someone out there. |
| Game #1: | Juan Gonzalez and Mo Vaughn homered in the top of the 9th off Josias (I Suck) Manzanillo to cap a nice comeback 5-4 win by CON. Gonzalez and Ben Grieve each had three hits for the winners. Tony Armas Jr. wasted a rare non-putrid start for Hampton by allowing just two runs in six innings. Jeromy Burnitz homered twice for Hampton. |
| Game #2: | Jamey Wright was pitching great for Hampton … and then he was not. Wright followed five near perfect shutout innings by allowing two runs in the 6th and 4 in the 7th to blow the 4-0 lead he was spotted and hand CON a 6-4 win. Mo Vaughn homered twice and drove in five runs for the Jays. |
| Game #3: | Chan Ho Park pitched like a putz for the Jays but that was enough to defeat the bilious and rancid Hampton pitching staff in a 10-5 Connecticut win. David Bell doubled and tripled and drove in six runs for the Winners while Bill Spiers made the most of some playing time with two doubles, two walks and two RBIs for Hampton. |
| Game #4: | My God … Adam Eaton actually pitched well and the bullpen didn’t cough up anything for a change as Hampton won 7-2. Ricky Gutierrez drove in three with a bases loaded double while Juan Gone homered again for Connecticut in a losing effort. |
| Game #5: | Barry Zito gave up just three hits in seven innings as the Huskies downed Connecticut 7-2 again. Steve Cox homered twice for Hampton while Mo Vaughn went deep once for the Jays. |
| Game #6: | No seven runs, but Steve Cox did homer again for Hampton … and the rest of the team did not much as they were crushed 9-2 by the Jays. In yet another multi-homer game, Ben Grieve smashed two long balls and drove in five for the Jays. |
| Series Summary: | The Huskies do their best to hang around on the outside edge of the draft lottery while giving up ground to Connecticut who took 4 of 6. |
Chicago Demolition @ California Quakes |
|
|---|---|
| Series Summary: | California sweeps Chicago. 3 one-run games, two walk-off winners, a few grand slams, one blowout. The series was much closer than the 6-0 record would suggest. |

| Series Summary: | Winnipeg wins 4 of the 6 as they continue to play well after giving up. |
