Series Preview: The bottom two teams in the NL East get together for some sado-masochistic baseball.
Game #1: Sean Casey drove in three runs to propel the Blue Crabs to an 8-4 win. This was the lowest run production for Baltimore in the series.
Game #2: The Baltimore bullpen crapped the bed giving up 11 runs from the 6th inning on as the Huskies stormed back for an 11-10 win. Henry Rodriguez was OK at the plate driving in seven runs.
Game #3: The number of homers hit by the Blue Crabs equalled the number of injuries for Hampton as Baltimore homered four times in a 15-7 rout.
Game #4: Preston Wilson homered three times and drove in nine – pretty much a season’s worth of RBIs for a Hampton player in a 15-2 bitch-slapping of the Huskies.
Game #5: Mark McLemore drove in five from the leadoff spot in a 15-9 Baltimore win.
Series Summary: Baltimore scored 67 runs in winning 4 of 5 from Hampton. Fun stuff.

Series Preview: Two of the best MWWL teams battle it out in cow town aka Ft. Worth, Texas. The AL West 2nd place team Castle Rock Hounds will test the AL West first pace setter, Ft. Worth Panthers at home. The Panthers are 10 games in front of the Hounds.

Ft. Worth has been playing very well with 8 wins in their last ten games their record now 55 and 15 with 5 straight wins. They are an incredible 28 and 2 at home. On AL leader boards they are first in batting average at .304, second best in homers with 100, on top in runs, second in slugging, 4th in steals with 68, first in on base percentage, and on top in ERA at 3.22.

Castle Rock have also been playing very well with 8 wins in their last ten games. Their record now 45 wins and 25 losses with 3 straight wins their road record is 19 and 15. Game #1: Game 1 was a back n forth battle. J.T. Snow gave the Hounds an early 2-0 lead with his 15th homer of the year in 2nd. Ribbie singles by Randy Velarde and Gary Sheffield put Ft. Worth back in front 3-2 after three innings. The two teams traded runs in the 4th and 6th then after Butch Huskey tied the game at 5 with his 9th homer of the year and the 3rd straight game the Hounds took the lead for good when Ft. Worth couldn’t turn a double play in the 8th.

Game #4: Castle Rock got what they thought was an insurance run off a rbi single by Fernando Tatis, but the Panthers roared back in the bottom of the 9th.
