CHIPPER JONES TO JANESVILLE
With the first selection in the 1993 Mid-West Winter League Draft the Janesville Juggernauts select from DeLand Florida, Shortstop / Third Baseman Larry Wayne Jones Junior. Otherwise known as Chipper Jones.
Jones figures to have a prominent career that could last 20 years. Jones a Switch Hitter will be a cornerstone player for the Juggernauts as they try to straighten the ship & their .358 Winning Percentage (290 – 520).
Jones looks to start his career at the middle infield, dabble a little in the Outfield, but eventually will move to Third base becoming a rock solid defender. On offense Jones could quite possibly put up some astonishing numbers.
Janesville General Manager Kevin Romano was extremely excited about having the #1 Selection & was quoted as saying “Our organization really likes our pick of Chipper Jones, he could becoming one of the best switch hitters ever to play in the Mid-West Winter League”.
