Manhattan Gas Hornets @ Steel City Sluggers
Preview	A battle of first place squads!
Game #1:	Sluggers can’t figure out Bob Welch, as he allows only 1 hit over 7 innings en route to a 3-0 victory for the visitors. Manhattan only manages 5 hits against Nolan Ryan, but made them count.
Game #2:	Slugger ace Dennis Martinez goes off the mound with injury (5 days) in the 1st inning, but the troops rally behind him as they prevail 1-0 thanks to a fantasic effort by the Steel City bullpen, as they allow only 1 hit the entire game. Milt Thompson‘s RBI single in the 9th gives the Sluggers the win.
Game #3:	Ron Darling out-duels Orel Hershiser as Steel City wins 2-0. Both teams only manage 5 hits, but the Gas Hornets make 3 errors and that sinks them.
Game #4:	Jack Morris doesn’t have it, and Charlie Liebrandt does as the Sluggers win 5-3. Compared to previous games, this is an offensive outburst, as both teams manage a whopping 8 hits apiece.
Game #5:	This one is all Nolan Ryan, as he cruises to a 9-2 victory over the Gas Hornets. Dave Stewart is pummeled for 9 runs (6 earned), as he surrenders 3 HR (including a 3 run blast by Andre Dawson). Matt Nokes hits a pair of solo HR, while Manhattan makes 2 more errors in the losing effort.
Summary:	A sweet 4-1 series victory without our ace — we’ll take it! Errors really hurt the Gas Hornets and were the main difference between two evenly matched clubs. LOTS of ex-Sluggers on the Gas Hornets; it was a family reunion of sorts.
