PEDRO MARTINEZ #1 PICK – TO CHICAGO DEMOLITION
The Chicago Demolition traded up to get the #1 Pick in the 1992 Mid-West Winter League Draft. They went out and took a starter for the future in Pedro Martinez.
Martinez was born October 25, 1971 in Manoguayabo, Dominican Republic. He comes from a baseball family, with both his father & older brother Ramon (Corktown Bootleggers) being pitchers. Pedro is considered a huge prospect despite being undersized at a skinny (if athletic) although just 5-10 & somewhere around 140-150 pounds, he gets his fastball well into the 90s and showing promise with his change up & occasional curve. His early career Pedro will probably have given him something like a strong Grade B- or a Grade B, but he will develop into a Grade A Starter & could possibly become a straight A+ pitchers with a possible Mid-West Winter League Hall of Fame Career.
