Preview	Detroit comes into town for a long eight game set against the Juggernauts in an American League West match up.
Game #1:	Game one is all Janesville, as they pound the Stars’ pitchers for 21 hits, winning 15-4.
Game #2:	Detroit gives a much better fight in game two, but still goes down 4-3 to the Juggernauts.
Game #3:	An extra-inning affair, Detroit gets on the win board taking game three 3-2.
Game #4:	Another hit fest for both teams, as a total of 35 hits were pounded out, with Detroit winning game four 14-10.
Game #5:	A pitchers duel in game five, with the Stars winning game five 1-0 in the 10th. Mcdowell for Detroit goes 9 innings for the win, while Alan Anderson for the Juggernauts goes all 10 innings in a losing effort.
Game #6:	Terrell for the Juggernauts pitches a gem, scattering six hits in winning game six 5-0.
Game #7:	The Juggernauts overcome an early three run deficit and wins game seven 6-4. In game eight, another fine pitching performance by the Janesville pitching staff allows them to take the game 9-4.
Summary	The Juggernauts win the series 5 games to 3. Up next for Detroit is the Flossmoor Flying Squirrels at home, while the Juggernauts hit the road at Montana.

Long Beach Titans @ Steel City Sluggers
Summary	Steel City takes 5 of 7 from visiting Long Beach.

Valdosta Bombers @ Sugar Land Skeeters
Preview	Division rivals Valdosta and Sugar Land square off.
Game #1:	Tommy Greene pitches six strong innings and has two RBI as the Skeeters win, 4-3. Devon White has three hits. Bream two RBI for Valdosta.
Game #2:	Langston allows four hits over eight shutout innings for his 20th win. Three solos homers power the 4-0 win for the Skeeters.
Game #3:	Bryn Smith allows one run in 5 2/3 innings and two unearned runs score for the Bombers as they win, 2-1. Tapani has zero Ks while allowing zero earned runs.
Game #4:	Hesketh allows one hit in 7 IP and a balanced offense scores six runs for the 6-0 Skeeter win.
Game #5:	Tommy Greene is solid again and White gets three more hits (a triple short of the cycle). SLS wins 6-2.
Game #6:	In the tenth, Otis Nixon makes a four-base error that scores Biggio for the 3-2 Skeeter win.
Game #7:	Trevor Wilson scatters eight hits in a CG 2-1 victory. Espinoza drives in both runs. Tapani (12-15, 2.22) allows zero earned runs AGAIN. 0-2 with a 0.00 ERA for the series, “losing” both games.
Summary	Sugar Land wins five of seven. Sugar Land is ready for the next series at Winnipeg.

Fort Worth Panthers @ California Quakes
Preview	Round 1 between Fort Worth and California resulted in a resounding Panther victory. The Quakes hope to turn the tables as they invite the Panthers to the Epicenter.
Game #1:	J. Abbott v. T. Gordon FWP – 2 CAL – 7 W – T. Gordon (10-3) L – J. Abbott (16-6) HR – E. Martinez, L. Whitaker, J. Olerud CS – W. McGee Tied 2-2 in the 6th, L. Whitaker put the Quakes ahead with a 2-run HR and J. Olerud followed up with a pinch hit 3-run HR in the bottom of the 7th to put the game away.
Game #2:	B. Wegman v. P. Harnisch FWP – 5 CAL – 6 W – J. Poole (5-0) L – M. Williams (1-4) HR – F. McGriff, H. Johnson (2), T. Pendleton, P. O’Neill Fort Worth put the first points on the board with a F. McGriff 2-run HR in the 4th, but the Quakes followed up with 4 runs in the bottom half of the inning. Adding another run in the bottom of the 5th off a T. Pendleton solo HR, the Quakes were up 5-2 in the 8th when the Panthers’ offense busted out for 3 runs on a 2-RBI double by I. Calderon and a pinch hit sac fly by J. Lindeman to tie the game. It would remain tied until P. O’Neill would swat a solo shot over left field in the bottom of the 10th.
Game #3:	Z. Smith v. B. Saberhagen FWP – 2 CAL – 3 W – B. Saberhagen (15-5) L – Z. Smith (12-7) S – B. Harvey (29) HR – F. McGriff, L. Parrish, J. Canseco (2), J. Clark SB – W. McGee Another very close game decided by HRs: 5 HRs, 5 runs. Canseco got the best of ‘em with 2 homers.
Game #4:	J. Melendez v. N. Ryan FWP – 1 CAL – 2 W – N. Ryan (16-3) L – J. Melendez (5-3) S – B. Harvey (30) HR – H. Johnson SB – M. Thompson CS – I. Calderon Third 1-run game in a row behind some great pitching duels. Both starting pitchers pitched through the 8th inning, with Melendez giving up only 2 runs and N. Ryan only 1. The difference was a H. Johnson solo HR in the bottom of the 8th inning to give California and N. Ryan the W.
Game #5:	B. Tewksbury v. G. Harris FWP – 4 CAL – 9 W – G. Harris (8-3) L – B. Tewksbury (11-1) HR – F. McGriff, W. Joyner, L. Parrish, J. Canseco Fort Worth jumped out to a 3-run lead in the top of the 2nd with three solo HRs by McGriff, Joyner, and Parrish. But, the Quakes tied it up in the bottom of the 3rd with a 3-run 2B by M. Nokes. All tied up, the Quakes offense didn’t stop, scoring six more runs over the next five innings, securing the win for G. Harris.
Game #6:	J. Abbott v. T. Gordon FWP – 6 CAL – 4 W – M. Williams (2-4) L – T. Gordon (10-4) S – M. Jackson (37) CS – D. Winfield Fort Worth jumped out to an early lead in the top of the 2nd with a RBI double by I. Rodriguez, and the Panthers didn’t look back.
Game #7:	B. Wegman v. P. Harnisch FWP – 7 CAL – 12 W – P. Harnisch (15-7) L – R. McDowell (2-5) HR – I. Calderon, F. McGriff, J. Canseco (2), M. Nokes (GS) California’s 5-run 1st just got things going. Lots of offense in this one, topped off by J. Canseco (2 HR and 4 RBI) and M. Nokes (Grand Slam and 5 RBI). For the Panthers, W. Joyner also had 4 RBI on a triple and a sac fly.
Summary	With 3 1-run games, this series was closer than the end results show. Fort Worth shut down the league’s best running game, giving up zero SBs. At the same time, Panther pitching gave up 14 HRs in the 7-game series; California pitching didn’t fare much better, giving up 9 Hrs. Round 3 coming up shortly.

Portland Mavericks @ Chicago Demolition
Preview	Portland comes into Chicago for what could be bad – really – really bad.
Game #1:	Ken Hill (10-6 3.58) gets the win, Joe Carter with 3 RBI’s for the Mavericks. Final Score: Portland 8 – Chicago 2
Game #2:	All offense in this one as the Mavericks score 11. Chuck Knoblauch has 3 RBI’s. Chicago not to be outdone scores one more than Portland. Ozzie Guillen, Wade Boggs & Mike Gallego all have 3 RBI’s each. Final Score: Chicago 12 – Portland 11
Game #3:	Steve Avery (10-8 2.89) throws a complete game 2 ht shutout for the Mavericks. Final Score: Portland 4 – Chicago 0
Game #4:	Charlie Hough (8-9 4.61) goes 7.1 strong & picks up the Win. Roger Clemens (8-12 3.38) takes the hard luck loss. Final Score: Portland 2 – Chicago 1
Game #5:	The Demolition get pounded by the Mavericks & held to only 2 runs by Greg Swindell (13-5 2.62) & Bill Landrum. Luis Polonia has 3 RBI’s for Portland Final Score: Portland 12 – Chicago 2
Summary	Portland’s GOOD. Chicago – not so much.

Winnipeg Goldeyes @ Michigan Marauders
Preview	Winnipeg is positioning themselves well for the playoffs and they invade Michigan for a 5 game series.
Game #1:	Winnipeg 13 Michigan 2 Jay Buhner and Rick Cerone are the stars of the game. Buhner with 1 homer and 4 RBIs. Cerone with 1 homer and 3 RBIs. Steve Sax adds 4 hits. Darryl Kile pitches a solid 6 for the Goldeyes. Brunansky hits a homer for Michigan.
Game #2:	Winnipeg 5 Michigan 3 Michigan blows a 3-1 lead and gives up 4 runs in the 9th. Henneman and Burke blow the game. George Bell with the big pinch hit in the 9th with a 2 run producing double. Mike Scioscia also has a key pinch hit. Gullickson only gave up 3 hits in the 7 innings he pitched, but his effort was wasted.
Game #3:	Michigan 2 Winnipeg 1 Michigan gets in the win column as Charles Nagy throws a complete game. Dale Murphy gets the game winning single in the 9th inning for Michigan. Murphy has 2 hits. Buhner with a solo blast in the 4th for Winnipeg.
Game #4:	Winnipeg 2 Michigan 1 (10 innings). Michigan gets a Ripken RBI in the 1st, but that would end Michigan’s offense. Tom Candiotti throws 10 innings for Winnipeg and earns the victory. Henneman gets a loss in relief. Both Winnepeg’s runs come off pinch hits – Randy Milligan and Mike Scioscia.
Game #5:	Michigan 4 Winnipeg 3 (13 innings). Michigan wins this extra inning game. Palmeiro has 3 hits for Michigan in the win. Chris Hoiles has the game winning hit in the 13th inning. Juan Samuel had 2 RBIs for Michigan. Mike Henneman gets the win in relief. Mike Devereaux hits a 2 run homer for Winnipeg
Summary	After Winnipeg’s game 1 blowout win, its a pretty competitive series. Winnipeg wins 3 out of 5 games.
