Vida-Blue-BioVida Blue‘s stellar 17-season career in the Mid-West Winter League (MWWL) makes him an undeniable selection for the Hall of Fame. A dominant left-handed pitcher, Blue spent the majority of his career with the Chicago Demolition (CHI), but also pitched for the Lauderdale Breakers (LAU), the Hollywood Vampires (HLW), the Steel City Sluggers (SCS), and the Old Mill Legends (OML).

Blue’s regular season numbers are staggering: a career 211-132 win-loss record, a 3.15 ERA, and over 3,110 innings pitched. His 2,003 strikeouts rank among the league’s all-time leaders. His peak was his 1971 season with the Chicago Demolition, where he posted a remarkable 22-13 record, a 2.28 ERA, and a career-best 309 strikeouts over 311.1 innings, earning him the prestigious Cy Young Award. He was also selected as an All-Star four times, including being named the starting pitcher in 1971.

Blue was not only a regular-season force but an exceptional postseason performer. Across three different playoff tiers—Division Series, League Playoffs, and World Series—he compiled a career 10-8 record. His 73.7 innings pitched in the League Playoffs featured a sparkling 2.32 ERA and a 5-3 record, guiding the Chicago Demolition to multiple championship appearances.
