DWIGHT GOODEN GOES #1 OVERALL IN 1984

The Jacksonville Red Caps had the first selection in the 1984 Mid-West Winter League Draft, and choose Right Hander Starter Dwight Gooden with the pick.  Gooden will jump right into the Red Caps rotation.   Jacksonville Manager Bill Hamilton said “We’re excited to have Doc on board and look forward to a great career with the Red Caps”.  Gooden is expected to have a great start to his Mid-West Winter League Career and then average out as time goes by.
