Dave-Winfield-BioDave Winfield‘s illustrious 21-season career in the Mid-West Winter League (MWWL) is a clear testament to his Hall of Fame credentials, built on a foundation of exceptional offensive performance and remarkable consistency. Winfield played for four teams: the Germantown Grays, the Old Mill Legends, the Traverse City Tigers, and the Fort Worth Panthers, concluding his career with a brief stint with the Valdosta Bombers.

Over 2,410 regular season games, Winfield amassed a staggering 2,426 hits, 353 home runs, and 1,364 Runs Batted In (RBI), finishing with a robust career slash line of .268/.338/.453 for a .792 OPS. He was a pillar of the Old Mill Legends for 15 seasons (1974-1987), where he achieved his peak, including a dominant 1979 season with a career-high 41 home runs, 123 RBI, and a league-leading .551 Slugging Percentage. This phenomenal stretch was recognized with 8 consecutive All-Star selections from 1978 to 1985, including three All-Star Game starts and the 1981 All-Star Game Most Valuable Player award. He also secured a Gold Glove Award in 1980.

Winfield also proved his value in the postseason, compiling 77 hits, 12 home runs, and 37 RBI across Division Series, League Playoffs, and World Series appearances.
