1997 WORLD SERIES

California Quakes @ Winnipeg Goldeyes
Two great teams meet again in the rematch of the 1996 World Series. Last year Winnipeg won the series in five games as Schilling, Vizquel, and Shaw carried the team. In their history, Winnipeg has won all three World Series appearances and California has won one of two tries with both losses to Winnipeg. Los Vegas believed this year however would have California Dreamin, in a five-game series win. The California team has the best hitting maybe ever in the MWWL with Salmon, Olerud, Galarraga, and Garciaparra, solid starting and great bullpen with Nen, Jones, and Hoffman. Winnipeg fans believe they can break George’s heart with great starting pitching Thompson, Glavine, Benes, and Schilling. The Winnipeg lineup has a nice mix of speed (Lofton and Vizquel) and power with McGwire, Buhner, and Lopez.
