| Series Preview: | Stockton visits Castle Rock as the Hounds are looking to put some space between themselves and California in the AL West. The three best records in the AL (by a wide margin) reside in the West division as we pass the halfway point. |
| Game #1: | Burkett getting the spot start for the Hounds is faced by Mlicki. Could be a slugfest with these two on the mound. And it is. After just five innings, the score is 8-7, Castle Rock and both starters have been removed. The Hounds fare better against the Wings bullpen and take the game by a 11-9 score. Castle Rock walks 12 times (!) in the game and Stockton also received 10 free passes! That’s a lot of wildness!

| Game #2: | The hits keep on coming in this one as the two teams combine for 27 hits, including 7 home runs. But 5 of those homers come from the Wings bats as they take an 8-4 victory. “Only” 8 walks combined in the game, down from 22 the game before.

| Game #3: | It’s a sloppy game in Castle Rock as the teams combine for 5 errors, 24 hits, 5 walks and 14 runs. Stockton gets the 8-6 victory, however as Jon Lieber delivers a quality start and Darren Dreifort gets shellacked. Guerrero adds two homers for Stockton and goes 4-5. The Wings have the 2-1 series lead.

| Game #4: | An inauspicious start to the game for Jason Schmidt for Stockton, as he hits the lead-off batter and walks four guys in the first inning, as Castle Rock takes a 3-1 lead without the benefit of any hits. But, he really settles down after that, and those three runs are all that Castle Rock can muster in this one. Stockton takes the 3-1 series lead, and is guaranteed at least a split.

| Game #5: | Florie does his best Schmidt impression, walking three guys and hitting another in the bottom of the first, as Castle Rock jumps out to a 2-0 lead. Castle Rock adds on two more to take a 4-0 lead in the 5th. But, Vlad Guerrero hits a 3-run shot to make it close. But, the Hounds bullpen holds on for the 4-3 Castle Rock victory. Rogers continues his tremendous season, improving his record to 12-2, despite just a 3.64 ERA.

| Game #6: | A rematch of Game 1 as Burkett faces Mlicki. Castle Rock hopes it goes the same way as the opener. It doesn’t start well for John, as he gives up a 3-run homer to Varitek in the top of the 1st. Castle Rock gets two back with a Clayton double in the bottom of the 2nd. Burkett and Masoaka can’t keep the Wings off the board at the back end of the game and Stockton takes the 7-5 victory and wins the series, 4-2.

| Series Preview: | Santa Rosa Beach welcomes the Mauraders to the Emerald coast for a 6 game set. The Bums have been struggling threw some injuries this season, but the squad should be healthy in a couple of days and some much needed rest is given to those carry more of the load than expected this series. |
| Game #1: | The Mauraders lead with their ace Hernandez (4-8, 6.05) and the Bums send Rosado (6-7, 3.77) to the mound, as Smoltz is sitting the series to the mound. In the 2nd with 2-out Marauders Brosius reached on an error, Bret Boone drew a walk and brother Boone also reached on an error scoring a run. Marauders strike again in the 3rd. Castilla stoked a leadoff double Liberthal drew a walk and Allen doubled them home, 3-0. After another error (3 in 3) Boone #1 doubled bringing in a couple more. Bums fill the bases in the bottom of the 4th. AND Thomas strokes a GRAND SLAM. Marauders 5-4. Marauders Liberthal adds an insurance run with a solo shot in the 5th. After a Boone #1 single and a passed ball Singleton brought in a run with a double 7-4. Singleton all but wraps it up with a leadoff solo shot in the 8th, 8-4. | Game #2: | Marauders call on Clement (6-6, 5.95) hoping to keep the momentum and the Bums Rapp (9-4, 4.45). Marauders start fast again. After a Ripken walk and Palmiero single, Liberthal went deep again, 3-0. In the bottom half Alomar leadoff with a single, followed by a Thomas double and a Caminiti RBI single. With 2-out in the 2nd, Marauders Guillen reached on an error and scored on a Singleton double. In the bottom half Curtis drew a walk, Thomas doubled and Rios lofted a sacritice fly, 4-2. In the 4th Marauders Boone #1 ripped a 2-run shot with Allen aboard. Boone #1 ripped a 2-run double in the 5th to make the score 8-2. After the Marauders put up another in the 6th and Bums manages a 3-spot to stay in the game. In the 7th the wrecking ball Boone #1 went deep with a 2-run shot, 11-5. In the 9th with no one on and 2-out Boone #1 adds salt to the wounds with a solo shot. Michigan 12 12 1 2b: Singleton, Williams, BBoone; HR: BBoone 3, Liberthal; HBP: Ripken; Sb: Guillen; H: Powell. | Game #3: | Marauders are feeling it with Nagy (3-8, 7.11) and the Bums aren’t with Ortiz (7-6, 4.78). In the bottom of the 2nd Bums Encarnacion got his swing and parked it with 2-out, 1-0. With 2-out in the 3rd Marauders Castilla drew a walk and Palmiero went yard. With 2-out in the bottom half Thomas and Rios singled and Koskie doubled them home. With bases loaded in the 6th Bums pinch hitter Jimemez drew a walk, followed by an Alomar 2-run single, 6-2. Then Thomas dropped in an RBI single. The Marauders get one back in the 7th to stay in the game. The Marauder leadoff the 8th with a couple of walks and an infield single by Allen to fill the bases. Brosius singled for one. Then Boone #1 doubled clearing the bases and resetting the game. In the 9th who else but Boone #1 lays down a sacrifice bunt scoring a run. Marauders take the lead 8-7. | Game #4: | Riding high the Marauders call on Livian Hernandez (3-9, 6.34) and the Bums go with Vazquez (7-1, 3.53). To start off the Bums half of the 1st, Alomar reached by error, Thomas doubled and Rios banged an RBI single. Later Loretta dropped in a single, 2-0. Followed by an Encarnacion single. Another scored on a Hernandez error, 4-0. Santiago completed a swing through the order bringing in two with a double. Bums 6-0 in the 1st. Not over yet folks as Alomar banged an RBI single, 7-0. The don’t give up Marauders fill the bases in the 2nd, but do not score. Beam ball is starting and the victim Encarnacion goes down. Hidalgo followed that with a GRAND SLAM. | Game #5: | To regain the momentum the Marauders call on their best pitcher to date Radke (7-7, 4.85) to face Bums Rosado (6-8, 3.90). After a couple day rest Bums Sanders hits one over the right field fence with Thomas aboard in the 1st. In the 4th Marauders Liberthal ripped yet another homer. In the bottom half Jensen walked, Loretta singled and Perez goes yard, 5-1. Top of 6th Marauders Palmeiro goes solo. Here they come again. In the 8th Boone #2 drew a walk and Palmeiro doubled. Second and third 0-out. Karsay called on. Williams produced an RBI ground out. And Liberthal grounded one through a hole for another, 5-4. Top of 9th Brosius doubled and scored with 2-out on an Anderson single. In the bottom of the 15th with 2-out Loretta doubled, Perez was walked and Lopez pinch hit for Hidalgo and banged a walk off single. Michigan 5 13 0 2b: Pameiro, Brosius. HR: Palmeiro, Lieberthal. Marauders put together three singles in the 2nd by Williams, Singleton and Steinbach to score a run. And another by Guzman, 2-0. In the 3rd Bums Curtis singled, adavanced on a ground out and scored on a Thomas double. In the 4th Marauders fill the bases and score on a Castilla fielders choice. Here comes wrecking ball Boone #1 again with a 2-run shot in the 5th, 5-1 Marauders. Marauders Singleton broke the game open with a 2-run shot in the 7th. | Game #2: | A three run Titans first keyed by a Mike DiFelice 2 run single greet new-comer John Halama. However, after that, he gives up nothing through 9 innings fanning 7. That was enough for the Gas Hornets to tie the game as they score 2 in the 7th, but after 9, it was 3-3. Matt Mantei blanks the Titans in the 10th, but Shigetoshi Hasegawa has a tough 10th as he loads the bases with WALKS! | Game #4: | Manhattan keeps it going in the next one as Juan Guzman tosses a 7 hitter (7 ip) giving up 1 run and fanning 8 – Jeffrey Hammonds homers (6) in the 4th. Gas Hornets were up 4-1 at the time, but then scored 4 more in the bottom of the 4th to run away with it, 8-1. Matt Stairs (23) homers again. | Game #5: | Tim Wakefield faces former Gas Hornet LaTroy Hawkins and it turns into a pitchers’ duel. Gas Hornets get single runs in the 1st and 2nd and looked like they were off and running, but Hawkins dug deep and didn’t give up anything else. Meanwhile, Trot Nixon (12) and Carlos Lee (8) stroke solo homers in the 3rd and 6th to tie the game. And that’s where we were after 9. Jose Cabrera pitches a solid 10th as does Rick Ankiel, Cabrera stays for the 11th and again blanks the Titans. Jose Mesa comes in – and well, he gives up 4 hits and Manhattan scores the winner on a Rico Brogna walk-off single (his 3rd hit of the game). | Game #6: | Series finale and it’s a douzy (didn’t seem like it for most of the game). After 2, Gas Hornets up 3-1 but Titans plate 2 in the 4th. But Gas Hornets plate 3 in the 4th. Starter Jim Brower didn’t have his stuff and Titans starter Kyle Peterson gets rocked in his 3.1 innings for 9 hits and 6 runs (and 3 walks). Manhattan adds 2 more in the 8th for an 8-3 lead. Pat Mahomes was closing out the game – coming in in the 7th as Gas Hornets were required to use a lot of bullpen. But a 2 out double, then a walk, and suddenly things were, eh, not so smooth. Ah, but Carlos Lee whiffs, 2 outs! Denny Hocking then walks, bases loaded, 8-3, 2 outs top of the 9th. Then Mahomes fans Brian Hunter to end the game – NO – the umpire calls it ball four forcing in a run, 8-4 and Mahomes gets the axe. In comes Norm Charlton to face Chad Kreuter and turns him around. No, Long Beach sends up Mike DiFelice to PH for him and oh, boy, what a call – he homers (4), a Grand Salami and that ties the game and Long Beach plates 5 in the 9th! Curt Leskanic than blanks Manhattan in the 9th and for the 2nd day in a row (and 3rd time in the series) we go to extra innings! Charlton stays for the 10th – gives up another hit, but no runs. Bottom half, Paul Bako leads off with a single off Leskanic and Andy Fox comes in to PR. Lenny Harris then hits his 2nd double of the game (4th hit) and Foxes races around to score and the game is over! Ray Durham and Harris each have 4 hits and Bako smacks 3.
