| Series Preview: | Coming off a drubbing by Harper Woods, the Hounds are looking forward to welcoming Portland, who enters in last place, into the friendly confines. |
| Game #1: | Kenny Rogers sucks this year, but we have to get him enough IP that we don’t lose him. So, he is facing off against Karsay in the series opener. Portland takes an early 4-0 lead, but Castle Rock chips away at it, and they take a 5-4 lead in the 6th off of a Huskey triple. They add one more to make it 6-4, but Sandy Alomar Jr. hits a two-run homer in the 7th to make it 6-6. Portland adds two runs in the top of the 9th and looks like they may take the opener. But, Castle Rock adds one in the 9th and has 1st and 3rd with two outs. Bonds steps to the plate, and…..he hits one deep, but Butler leaps and makes the game-ending catch. The final is 8-7 Portland.

| Game #2: | An uneven matchup as Pettitte faces Navarro, and it went as expected. The final is 9-4, but it isn’t even that close. Sveum and Luis Gonzalez hit homers for Castle Rock and Pettitte throws 6 IP, giving up just one earned run. Castle Rock loses Easley for three games.

| Game #3: | It’s a close one, but Portland’s defense really lets them down in this one. The Mavericks have four errors, and despite Castle Rock only collecting four hits, they win it 4-2.

| Game #4: | This was a fun one, as we have an extra-inning affair. Portland takes a 6-5 lead in the top of the 12th as Knoblauch gets on, steals second and scores on a single from Butler. Knoblauch has been a thorn in the Hounds’ side all series. The Hounds get men on first and second in the bottom of the 12th with two out, and Snow comes up to bat. Spradlin gets him to ground out, and the final is 6-5, Portland.
