The tide turned & so did the score in this second game.   Chuck Knoblauch was 3 for 4 with a solo Home Run & scored 3 Runs  Gerald Williams & Joe Carter both chipped in with 2 RBI’s apiece.   Roger Pavlik went 7 Innings allowing only 3 Earned Runs & Troy Percival closed down the final 2 Innings allowing only a walk while doing so.

GAME #3 – Dennis Springer 3-1 (2.56) vs. Ismael Valdes 12-8 (2.61)

The Mavericks got off to a 4-0 start after the 1st half Inning of play.  Detroit looked stymied & didn’t put up a run until the 5th Inning.  The 3 more runs in the 6th, to give them a 5-4 lead.  2 More runs in the 8th sealed the deal & the Mavericks were eliminated as Tony Fossas closed the door & the season for Portland.
