| Series Preview: | Long time rival the Long Beach Titans travel across the country to Santa Rosa Beach to play the Bums. The teams are not in the same division anymore and both are seeking a playoff spot. Should be a good series. Bum management is hoping the Titans took a bus tour on the way. |
| Game #1: | Titans decide on Dennis Martinez (3-3) in game 1 to face Kevin Appier (4-2). Titans Hill starts off the scoring with a solo shot in the 2nd. The Bums come right back in the bottom half as Nunnally tripled and White singled him home. Thomas then gives the Buns the lead with a solo shot in the 4th. Titans Baergaleads off the 6th with a single and Boggs executed a perfect hit and run to put runners on 1st and 3rd in the 6th with no outs. Munoz followed with an RBI single to tie the game and chase Appier. Castillo holds for two outs before Hill banged a 3 -run shot to open the game up. His second dinger of the day. | Game #2: | Hamilton (3-3) is the Titan choice and the Bums go with Smoltz (6-0). Bums start fast with back-to-back doubles by Alomar and Caminiti to lead off game 2. Then Caminiti advances to 3rd and home on consecutive flies to right by Thomas and Sanders, 2-0. Titans Scarsone gets one back with a solo shot in the 2nd. In the bottom half Tarasco walked, MacFarlane doubled him to third and he scored on a Gagne sac fly to center. Hold on to your seats. MacFarlane later scored on a Alomar bloop single, 4-1. Bums get one back in the bottom half as Brumfield and PH Hudler doubled. Hill then drops a 2-run bomb to make it Titans 5-2.
