Series Preview:	The Bandits travel to Michigan for a five game series.
Game #1:	Michigan 2 Blarney Drive 1 Mike Morgan outpitches Randy Johnson. Neither get the win as the Marauders score a run in the 8th to take the lead. Joe Boever throws a perfect 1.2 innings to get the win and Jerry DiPoto takes the loss. Brett Boone with the game winning RBI.
Game #2:	Blarney Drive 6 Michigan 5 (12) Mike Bordick knocks in 3 runs on a double to help the Bandits to the win. George Brett hits a homer in the loss. Randy Myers picks up the win and Harris earns the save.
Game #3:	Barney Drive 7 Michigan 4 Rickey Henderson and Mike Bordick hit homers for the Bandits. Jose Bautista wins his 2nd game for Blarney Drive. Palmeiro with a homer in the loss.

Series Preview:	First place Sugar Land pays a visit to the Bombers in Valdosta.
Game #1:	Valdosta 7-2. Mark Gubicza made his season debut and pitched 8 strong innings with 11 K’s.
Game #2:	Sugar Land 4-2. Danny Jackson improved to 6-1. Meanwhile, Pat Hentgen plunked 3 Skeeters and got himself ejected.
Game #3:	Sugar Land 3-2 (10 Innings). Craig Biggio homered in the 10th and Jim Poole held on for the save.
Game #4:	Valdosta 5-4 (10 Innings). Eric Karros ended it with a walk-off 10th inning HR.
Game #5:	Sugar Land 5-0. Bret Saberhagen tossed a 3 hitter to improve to 7-1 on the campaign.
Game #6:	Sugar Land 7-3. Mark Gubicza got rocked for 7 runs. The big news was Jim Thome going down for 25 days with a wrist injury.
Game #7:	Sugar Land 8-1. Danny Jackson (7-1) scattered 8 hits in 8 IP for the win.
Series Summary:	Valdosta fought hard but dropped 5 of 7 to the Skeeters. Danny Jackson was 2-0 in the series.

Series Preview:	Stockton visits the Juggernauts for a five game match up.
Game #1:	STOCKTON 6 JANESVILLE 5 A game where the Juggernauts kept chasing the Wings but could never catch up.
Game #2:	JANESVILLE 6 STOCKTON 1 Eldred is masterful for the Juggernauts, going the distance for his sixth win of the season.
Game #3:	STOCKTON 4 JANESVILLE 2 The Wings’ bullpen comes thru with three innings of one hit relief.
Game #4:	JANESVILLE 6 STOCKTON 5 The Juggernauts score all their runs in the last three innings as Stockton’s bullpen was unable to hold the lead given to them.
Game #5:	JANESVILLE 6 STOCKTON 2 Leibrandt get his second win of the season going the distance as Janesville takes the series finale.
Series Summary:	Close fought on both sides of the plate. Next up for Janesville is a home series against the Portland Mavericks while the Wings stay on the road to take division rival Fort Worth in a seven game set.

Missouri Black Bears @ Manhattan Gas Hornets
Series Preview:	Missouri Black Bears come to Manhattan to renew their rivalry and when looking at the lineup for the Black Bears it’s hard to believe they even lose any games. Well, they won’t win all the games this week, but they do have a hitter who smacks not 1, not 2, NOT 3, but 4 Homers in a game and gets a dozen RBIS!
Game #1:	Well this is the game you heard about. Pete Smith makes the start for Manhattan and goes 3 innings before being lifted with a runner on in the 4th. During that time he gives up 9 hits, 2 homers and 8 runs. However, the bullpen guys come in and give up 14 runs over the remaining 6 innings. That’s right, 22 runs – and they do it with ONLY 19 hits (and 6 walks, a 3 MGH errors). Of the 19 hits 6 of them were homers. 4 by Matt Williams (10 through 13) and he amassed 12 rbis – 1 of them a grand slam. Andres Galarraga‘s 3 hits, 3 run, 2 rbi performance (HR #6) sounds mundane in comparison. Oh, and Kenny Rogers only gives up 4 hits over 6 and the Gas Hornets get nothing else. Game #2:	No 22 runs in this one (combined or otherwise) but it goes into free baseball land. A 3 run 5th for Manhattan gives them 4-2 lead. Ron Darling leaves, Doug Jones does OK but then Greg Harris steps in to close it off in the 8th, but he gives up a 2 run homer to Mike Piazza (10) to tie it up. But in the bottom of the 10th Craig Shipley comes in to PR and then Kevin Maas hits a PH double, Shipley scores and the Gas Hornets win a game. Game #3:	The fans liked free baseball so much in game two that the teams gave it to them again in game 3. Frank Viola and Dave Stewart squared off into the 7th (Stewart goes the full 7) – the Gas Hornets put one across in the 7th to tie the game at 1-1. Andres Galarraga hit a solo HR (7) in the 2nd to get the Black Bears run. John Wetteland pitches 2 scoreless innings as does Greg Harris. So it’s Doug Jones in the 10th – he gives up a walk, but nothing else. Mitch Williams comes in for Missouri. Dave Martinez walks and moves to 3rd on a Polonia single. Luis Alicea then lifts a fly ball to left center, Juan Gonzalez catch’s it and all the runners tag. JuanGon throws it to the plate but Martinez beats it easily and the game is over – Gas Hornets again get an overtime win – but no points to the loser. Game #4:	Black Bears get back on track in this one putting a 3 in the 2nd which included a Dante Bichette 2 run single. Then single runs in the 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 7th add up to 7 runs, 3 more than needed. Andres Galarraga again hits one over the fence (8) and gets 2 hits, 2 runs, 2 rbis, 2 walks in the game. Game #5:	Mike Piazza makes sure the Black Bears keep winning by going 3 for 3, scoring twice, driving in 2, walking once and missing the cycle by a double. He hits his 11th homer. Scott Fletcher and Juan Gonzalez get 2 hits. Mark Portugal goes 7.2 innings, 6 hits and gives up but 1 run. MBB 5-9-0 WP Portugal (8-3), S John Wetteland (8) MGH 1-7-0 LP Orel Hershiser (5-4)
Game #6:	This one gets a lot of runs from each team. Looked like Pete Smith was going to be clobbered again (remember game 1) when Royce Clayton (2) opens the game with a solo homer (2). But then he gets things under control. His teammates rack up 3 runs in the next 3 innings and things look good. But Andres Galarraga smacks a 2 run homer (9) in the 5th to tie the game and guess who – Matt Williams tees off (9) on Smith for a solo shot in the 6th to give the Black Bears a 4-3 lead. In the 7th with the bases loaded and Mike Piazza up, a wild pitch scores one and Piazza then doubles in the other 2 for a 7-3 lead. Gas Hornets get one back of Tom Henke due to a Black Bear error in the 8th. But then the Black Bears seemingly put things away with a 3 run 9th. Piazza gets another rbi with a single. Juan Gonzalez‘s singles for another run and Dante Bichette finishes the scoring with a blooper. Turns out this was good for da Bears. Alicea comes up with 2 on and doubles them in off Mike Perez. Dave Martinez singles scoring Alicea. Perez is removed and John Wetteland comes in and shuts down the Hornets. MBB 10-15-2 WP Kenny Rogers (6-4) S Wetteland (9) MGH 7-13-0 LP Pete Smith (1-4)
Game #7:	John Burkett and Ron Darling decide to make the finale a pitcher’s duel on a large scale. Burket goes 7.2 giving up 5 hits, a walk and nothing else. He gets solid help from John Wetteland in the 8th and 9th keeping the Gas Hornets off the scoreboard through 9. Meanwhile Darling pitches the first 9 giving up 7 hits, 2 walks and nothing else. So it’s 0-0 after 9 – and a 3rd round of free baseball is in store. Top of the 9th, 1 out, Darling still pitching and Alex Cedeno draws a walk. Royce Clayton up and Cedeno steals 2nd. Clayton then bounces one up the middle and Darling knocks it down and recovers and throws out Clayton – Cedeno moves to 3rd, 90 feet from the go ahead run. Kevin Higgins steps in and ropes one toward 2nd and Alicea snares it to end the threat. Bottom half and wild-thing Mitch Williams is brought in. Craig Shipley comes in to PH and flies out. John VanderWal then pinch hits for Benito Santiago and lines one to RF for a single. Chad Kreuter then joins the list of pinch hitters and he draws a walk. Luis Polonia follows and Williams tosses one in high and wide that in the words of Ernie Harwell, “Piazza would net a net to catch that one.” The runners move up. Polonia then follows with a fly out to CF, Juan Gonzalez catches it, both runners tag, VanderWal heads for home, Kreuter for 3rd, the throw to the plate and Vandy is safe – the Hornets again pull one out in overtime. Series Summary:	Some kinda of series – Black Bears pull it out with a 4-3 win. And they really commanded almost the whole week, as the three losses came in extra innings. Andres Galarraga hits 4 homers, to be outdone by Matt Williams hitting 5. Black Bears return home to host Winnipeg while the Gas Hornets go on the road to face Germantown (oh boy).Manhattan set for next week.

Portland Mavericks @ Flossmoor Flying Squirrels
Game #1:	Maddux gets the shutout for the Squirrels in the 1-0 win. 1-0 Flossmoor
Game #2:	Felix, Jose can you see, the ball fly over the fence for a 2-run dinger. Squirrels lead 3-1. They increased the lead to 4-1 before Portland started fighting back, 4-4 after 5. But Portland was getting played with, and it didn’t take long for the Squirrels to bury the nuts, first with a 3 run blast by Travis Fryman, and then Mean Dean Palmer made it back-to-back. 9-4 Flossmoor
Game #3:	Squirrels fly out to a 4-1 lead. In the 5th Karkovice doubles the lead with a 3-run dinger. 8-3 Flossmoor
Game #4:	This time the Mavs catch the Squirrels napping and put a 5 spot on the board in the 2nd, but only 2 are earned. They add two more in the 3rd sending Cone to the showers. Mavs cruise to easy win. 10-1 Portland
Game #5:	Wilkins continues his special year for Portland with a 3-run dinger in the 1st (17). Portland leads 6-0 before Puckett hits a solo HR, but Flossmoor never gets close as Portland gets the win. 7-3 Portland
Game #6:	Squirrels lead 6-4 before Rick Wilkins blasts yet another HR, of the 3-run variety giving Portland the 7-6 lead. After Portland gets one more in the 8th, Wilkens hits another HR! (20). 9-7 Portland
Game #7:	Wilkins hits his third homerun in a row (over 2-games) in the first inning. His avg is .397! Portland has a 3-0 lead with runners on 2nd and 3rd before they line into a double play to end the inning. Ouch. A yeah, it would come back to haunt them as the 3-0 lead turns into 6-3 deficit after a 4-run 6th inning by the Squirrels. Norm Charlton comes in to face Wilkins with 2 on in the 7th… and Wilkins, gets his third hit of the game, but just a single loading the bases. Charlton would shut Portland’s attempted rally with the bases loaded. Olson would come on for the Squirrels to get his 16th save of the year.
Series Summary:	Portland turned a walk in the park, into a battle, but Flossmoor ends up getting the 4-3 series win. Wilkins ends the series hitting .402.
