The Titans tied it in the bottom of the inning when Jack Voigt drove in Juan Samuel. It stayed 4-4 until the 18th when Mike Pagliarulo knocked in Ken Griffey to give Sugar Land a 5-4 win. |
| Game #2: | Sugar Land hammered out 17 hits and rolled Long Beach 11-3. They exploded in the 1st with 6 runs behind HRs from Jay Bell and Moises Alou. Moises Alou had another 2 run HR in the 5th as the Skeeters rolled to the win. |
| Game #3: | Mark Langston threw a 3 hit complete game improving to 8-0 in Sugar Land’s 2-1 win. Chris James drove in the winning run with a SF in the 8th. Moises Alou hit his 3rd HR in the last 2 games. |

| Game #4: | Amazing things continue. Gas Hornets get off to 3-0 lead in 1st on Chad Kreuter 3 run homer (6). But the Bombers begin to look like their nickname as they roar back for 6 runs in the 2nd including a Alex Karros 3 run homer (11). But that will be their offense as 4 Gas Hornets pitchers go the rest of the way giving up 2 hits. Meanwhile the Gas Hornets chip away scoring single runs in the 3rd, 4th and 5th and then tack a 2 spot on in the 7th that gives them the win. Kreuter had a big game with 2 hits and 2 walks and scoring 3 times. Alex Cole has 3 hits and 2 rbis. | Game #5: | Dave Stewart is back from the DL and wow, what a game he pitches. He goes into the 9th with a 2-0 lead. He gives up a lead off walk to Brent Gates then fans Tom Pagnozzi. Scott Servais comes in to PH and bounces into a FC – 2 outs. Chuck then steps in and walks prolonging the game. Jose Vizcaino comes to the plate to end the game, but instead he launches to RF that Dave Martinez can only watch. With that one pitch Vizcaino spoils Stewart’s return and turns a 2-0 lead into a 3-2 deficit for the home team. Roger McDowell comes to close it in in the bottom of the 9th. But Dave Magadan connects, Kevin McReynolds chases it toward the wall and he has it in his glove, but wow, he crashes into the wall – but HOLDS on, 1 out on a great play. Wil Cordero then flies out to CF. Billy Spiers follows but draws a walk. Dave Martinez then hits one to the right center gap for extra bases and Spiers just runs, run Billy run, and he’s safe easily at home. McDowell then gets PHitter Scott Livingstone to end the inning, but we are all tied after 9 at 3-3. We move to the 11th and again with 2 outs and a one runner on this time, Vizcaino steps up against Greg Harris. Chuck Carr on first, and he sets off for 2nd against a napping Harris, but Chad Kreuter‘s throw nails him. In the bottom half, Wil Cordero hits a 1 out double. Spiers pops out for the 2nd out and Dave Martinez is given the IW by Blas Minor. John VanderWal comes in to PH for Harris and he spanks one through the hole on the right side and Cordero streaks around and beats the throw to home to give the Gas Hornets the win in 11 innings. | Game #6: | Well the fans are starting to bring brooms to the ballpark. And for those who sat through all 11 innings of the previous game, they are really in for a long in this game. Jaime Moyer making his 2nd start in the series goes 9 innings giving up 6 hits and fanning 7 and yielding NO runs. Hipolito Pichardo for the Gas Hornets does him even better. He gives up only 4 hits, fans 9 and pitches 10 innings of scoreless baseball. Then the bullpens take over and they are just as effective. Through 16 innings it is still 0-0. Top 17, Allen Watson in, Brent Gates leads off with a single just past Wil Cordero at short. Then Tom Pagnozzi gets an infield single. Greg Colbrun in to PH for Jeff Brantley and he hits a pea that goes to RF near the corner for a double scoring Gates for a 1-0 lead. No outs, runners at 2nd and 3rd. Chuck Carr then hits a blooper to LF that drops in scoring 2 more as he gets a double. It’s now 3-0 and the Bombers scoring is done. Well the Bombers then call on Rob Nen for the bottom of the 17th and he pitches a perfect frame with a K for the save. Whew – 17 innings. And no sweep for Manhattan. | Game #7: | Well after going 17 scoreless in game 6, the Gas Hornets get 1 in the 1st – and don’t stop there. 3 more in the 3rd and then 6 in the 7th and a final 3 spot in the 8th. All Valdosta could do (besides watch) was get a single run in the 5th on a Brent Gates single. Tino Martinez hits his 3rd homer and goes 3 for 4 with 3 rbis. Wil Cordero gets 3 hits including his 1st homer and 2 rbis. Chad Kreuter gets 3 hits and 3 rbis.
