Series Preview:	Winnipeg shocked the Grays last year in the playoffs could there be sweet revenge by the Grays.

Game #1:	Caminiti and Gagne make errors as smoltz allows 3 run two unearned. The big blow was a 2 run homer by nokes for Winnipeg. Sanders did hit as 2 run homer off Schilling but Beck and Rojas nailed th game down with 3 perfect innings. Winnipeg 3 Germantown 2 W-Schilling (1-0) S-Rojas(1) L-Smoltz(0-1)
Game #2:	Winnipeg stole 3 bases and scored 4 runs off appier. Mack for Gernmantown did homer off Glavine but they managed only two runs off the lefty. Rojas again faced the final 6 Germantowners and did not allow a baserunner. Winnipeg 4 Germantwon 2 W-Glavine (1-0) S-Rojas (2) L-Appier(0-1)
After 2 Games:	Winnipeg continues to play great in the playoff with their pitching shutting down the grays. Winnipeg up two to nothing is ready for games 3,4 and 5 with Candiotti, Schilling and Glavine.Winnipeg comes to Germantown after stymieing them on their home field. The Goldeyes are up 2-0.
Game #3:	To start to set up to get back to a three man rotation the Grays used the whole pitching staff. And it worked. Goldeyes Candiotti 7IP 2R 6H 1W 6K. Grays McFarlane 2-3 RBI 2b IBB and Gagne 2-4 2RBI. Eight Grays pitchers combined for a 2-hitter. Grays 6-0
Game #4:	Smoltz needed to go deep in the game to prepare the Grays for game 5 and if 6 and 7 would happen. Goldeyes McGwire 2-4 2R 3RBI 2HR. Grays Alomar 2-5 R 2RBI 2b Sb and Gagne 2-3 2R W. Smoltz 7.1IP 2R 6H 0W 7K. But more inportant Goldeye Schilling goes down possibly for the season. Grays 7-5
Game #5:	Grays use Morgan for only a few innings in case he is needed for game 7. Goldeyes Nixon 2-4 W, Roberts 2-5, Devereaux 3-5 2R 2-2b, Vizquel 2-3 2RBI W and McGwire 1-4 2R 3RBI HR W. Grays Thomas 2-4 R RBI 2-2b IBB, McFarlane 2-2 R 2-2b W. Morgan, Hernandez and Wohlers pitched 6.2 scoreless innings. Grays 7-5.
After 5 Games:	Series back to Winnipeg 3-2. Grays ready to go. Appier than Morgan on the mound. Two equally matched teams going at it as both teams yied for the lead in wins at 106. Winnipeg won games one and 2 with dominant pitching and Germantown won games 3,4 and 5 with strong pitching at their park. It was now back to Winnipeg and worse for Winnipeg scheduled game 7 starter and ace Curt Schilling was hurt in game 4 and is out for the playoffs.
Game #6:	This was the game Germantown felt they would win with thier ace Appier going vs the knuckleballer Candiotti. Candiotti went 5 shutout innings allowing just 4 hits and no walks. He was pinch hit for in the 5th and Browne came through with a sac fly scoring pinch runner redus. Winnipeg added two more as Pena came off the bench in the 6th hitting a 2 run double. With a 3-0 lead in came ROjas who for an unknown reason the 21 did not pitch in Germantown. He went 2 innings, then Power went one and Beck saved it in the 9th. In the four inning od relief Germantown managed only 1 hit. Winnipeg 3 Germantown 0 W-Candiotti(1-1) Save Beck(1) L-Appier(0-2)
Game #7:	With Schilling out Winnipeg went to their 4th starter Benes who was amazing all year winning 19 games with a very low era as a grade 9Z. But Morgan was a 15 with no Z for German town. Advantage Germantown. In the game Benes did as asked went 5 innings allowed 4 hits and a walk and no runs. Morgan allowed just 2 hits but had awful control walking 5 including a bases loaded walk, and relief pitcher Frey also walked in a run as Germantown pitchers argued with the umpires. Winnipeg was up 4-0 and handed the game to the pen. Backman did manage a key 2 run hit to make it 4-2 but Beck then locked the door in the 8th and 9th. Series Summary:	A frustrating series for Germantown hitters as they only hit .200 with 3 homers in 7 games. Thier pitchers did very well allowing just 24 runs in 59 innings although 6 errors ended up resulting in a third of those 24 runs (8) being unearned. Winnipeg made 5 errors but as luck would have it only 4 unearned runs allowed. Winnipeg hitters did not do much either hitting just .197 but did hit 6 homers. Mark McGuire gets the series MVP hitting just .238 but had 3 homers and 7 rbis with a .407 OB% and 1.074 OPS. Germantown did out score Winnipeg 26 to 24 in the series but lost 4 games to 3 as the series went straight across with the home team.
