| Game #2: | Bandit’s hang a 6-spot in the 1st to chase Candiotti early. After 5 full Blarney Drive is up 8-3 but the lead is like sand through the fingers as the Goldeyes scor in innings 4-9 forcing extra innings at 8-8. Both bullpens toss zeroes through 16. Murphy allows a lead off single to speedy Otis Nixon to start off the 17th when the last Bandit in the pen, Hass, is called on. Nixon promptly steals 2nd. A bounce out gets him to 3rd with 1 out for Roberts to score him on a grounder to short. Hickerson holds down the fort to secure the Winnipeg win.
Nixon 5-7, scores 3 runs and steals two bags. Ventura and Buhner each collect 3 RBI. Teams combine for 37 hits. WGE 9 BDB 8 W – Hickerson (3) |
