Preview
Long Beach Titans (67-55) in a battle for a wild card spot travel cross country to play NL East leaders Manhattan Gas Hornets (80-42). Long Beach took the series 4-1 when they were in Long Beach and the Titans are hoping for something equal to or close to that for this series.
Game #1:
Gas Hornets open up the 1st with a 3 run Jacoby HR (14) and then after the Titans cut it to 3-2 after 5, Perry knocks a 2 run HR (3) in the 6th to sew it up. Both Titan runs were driven in by Braggs, who goes 3 for 5 with 2 doubles and a solo HR (11). Jones and Smith preserve the win for Leary.
LBT 3-5-0 LP Young (8-5)
MGH 5-11-1 WP Leary (8-9) S D.Smith (4)

Game #4:
After a day off, the teams come back and the Titans follow the same pattern of game 3. A run in the 1st and 2nd including a Fielder HR (46). Poor Manhattan defense responsible for 2 more Titans runs in the 6th. Incaviglia gets 3 hits and scores 2 (and 2 doubles). Bottom of the 6th Santiago finally gets Manhattan on the boards (drought since game 2) with a solo HR (9). Then the Gas Hornets string a bunch of doubles together to tie the game in the 7th at 4-4. Bottom of the 9th Sax leads off with a double (3 hits in the game). James sacrifices him to 3rd. McReynolds hits a lazy fly to CF, Lemon gets to it but Sax beats the throw home to score the winning run.

MGH 5-10-2 WP Jones (7-0)
Game #5: in the finale Scott goes the distance tossing a 6 hitter for the win. He’s backed up a 3 run 2nd and 3 run 5th (and 3 Titans errors – 2 by Incaviglia).
