1990 OPENING DAY

The anticipation of another opening day, (The 21st in Mid-West Winter League History) was at a fevered pitch when minutes before game time the reigning World Series Champion Mexico City Chihuahuas settled in the third base line in their home park in Mexico City for the first time as World Series Champions.

Before the game Billy Idol did a rousing rendition of the Canadian, United States & Mexican National Anthems.   No one was quite sure what Idol said during each rendition, but the Mexican crowd of our 62,000 was on hand and loving it.

Then it was on to Baseball as the World Series Champion Mexico City Chihuahuas were ready to take on the Juggernauts from Janesville.

The predictions are in, the first pitch has been thrown, and the 21st Mid-West Winter League Season is now underway!
