Traverse City Tigers @ Cedar Park Bears ·
Series Preview	Al West match up between the 1st place Tigers and the 2d place Bears. Should be a growl.
Game #1:	Swindell improves to 11-4, 2.97 and Pena earns 10th save. Pete O’Brien hit 2 HRs (5) but Eric King, (3-3, 5.16) and the Tigers fall short. Final: Bears 6 Tigers 4
Game #2:	Bears go to their bench and Mackey Sasser doubled, walked, drove in one and scored twice to lead CP to a come from behind win. Tigers led 2-0 into the 8th. RP Chuck Crim won it (1-3, 1.51), Leiper BS, (2-2, 1.91). Final: Bears 3 Tigers 2 (10)
Game #3:	Another solid outing for Mike Moore CG (9-6, 2.28), LaPoint (5-4, 3.56) still unable to defeat the Bears this year. Puckett (12) and Clark (8) HR for CP. Final: Bears 4 Tigers 1
Game #4:	Joe Carter (15) and Raffy Ramirez (8) HR, Carter 3-RBIs Ramirez 4. Pete O’Brien 4 for 5 as Traverse City get 16 hits. Greg Maddux (8-6, 3.41) pitches 6 for the win. John Dopson (8-5, 3.29) has a bad outing and leaves in the 2d inning. The bullpen falters as well. Final: Tigers 11 Bears 3
Game #5:	Bobby Witt (7-4, 3.39) goes 6, Al Pena (sv-11) finishes up as the Bears get 2 in the 1st and 2 in the 8th. Bob Knepper (8-3, 2.58) takes a tough loss. Final: Bears 4 Tigers 1
Game #6:	Candelaria (8-5, 3.09) out pitches Swindell (11-5, 3.10) with BP help from Leiper and Jones (Sv-22). Joe Carter doubled and drove in 3 runs. Final: Tigers 4 Bears 2
Game #7:	Bears hoping to gain more ground on the AL West leaders start out well with 3 runs in the 1st, but Mike Boddicker falls apart in the 4th, and Honeycutt also falters and the Tigers gain a 5-4 advantage after 6 innings, Ray drives in 2 runs. In the 8th, the Bears go to their bench again and Randy Milligan single home PR Rex Hudler with the tying run, but despite getting the winning run OB, the Bears could not get it home. In the 10th for the Tigers, they also go to their bench, Fermin PH for Barfield reaches on a single, Mookie Wilson enters as a PR. Tim Rainers gave the Tigers the lead with a single to score Wilson. Agosto (6-4, 2.66) finished to pick up the win. Cerutti (3-4, 2.60) took the loss. Final: Tigers 6 Bears 5
Series Summary *	By winning the last two games, Traverse City was able to keep Cedar Park from gaining any significant ground in the standings. They host Mexico City next week while Cedar Park hits the road for Montana.

· Michigan Marauders @ Valdosta Bombers
Series Preview	3RD PLACE BOMBERS NEED SOME WINS TO GET BACK IN THE RACE.
Game #1:	Michigan 8-2. Charlie Hough (5-11) got pounded as the Marauders cruise.
Game #2:	Michigan 4-2. Bo Jackson smacked a 3 run HR (18) and that was all Mark Langston (7-8) needed as the Marauders sneak past the Bombers.
Game #3:	Valdosta 3-2 (14 Innings). Jeff Treadway‘s PH RBI single was the game winner in the 14th.
Game #4:	Michigan 9-1. Teddy Higuera (12-4) with the 3 hitter.
Game #5:	Valdosta 3-2. Bombers win a close one.
Game #6:	Michigan 7-0. Don August (7-5) scattered 8 hits on the way to the shutout.
Game #7:	Valdosta 3-0. Aged Don Sutton (2-3) tossed a 3 hitter with no walks. Andy Van Slyke hit his 12th HR of the year.
Series Summary *	Michigan wins the series 4-3.

Stockton Wings @ Chicago Demolition
Series Preview	Chicago takes on Division Rival the Stockton Wings
Game #1:	Roger Clemens improves to (9-6 3.80) allowing only 4 hits over 7.1 innings. Chicago gets two RBI’s from 2B-Man Bill Doran. Final Score: Chicago 5 – Stockton 0
Game #2:	Three left handed Mobsters drive in 2 RBI’s each (Kal Daniels, Von Hayes & Mike Scioscia) off left-handed starter Bruce Hurst. Doug Drabek improves to (10-3 3.31). Final Score: Chicago 6 – Stockton 3
Game #3:	Eric Davis 3-Run HR give Chicago an early 3-1 lead but the Wings chip back to take a 4-3 lead after 8 & 1/2 innings. Chicago ties it in the bottom of the 9th and wins it in 11. Greg Minton (5-0 3.86) picks up the win for the Demolition. Final Score: Chicago 5 – Stockton 4 (11 Innings)
Game #4:	A Sacrifice Fly in the bottom of the 10th by Von Hayes, scores Bill Doran and the Demolition win again. Final Score: Chicago 3 – Stockton 2 (10 Innings)
Game #5:	Chicago continues to look strong. Wade Boggs inches ever so close to .400 and finishes the game at .399. Orel Hershiser (12-5 2.56) picks up the win.Final Score: Chicago 6 – Stockton 1
Game #6:	Roger Clemens (10-6 3.80) holds off the Wings allowing only 3 ER in 7.1 Innings of work. Three unsuspecting Demolition players have 2 hits each (Terry Puhl, Gerald Yong & Tim Launder). Dennis Eckersley picks up his 19th Save on the season. Final Score: Chicago 4 – Stockton 3
Game #7:	Stockton’s Bruce Hurst (11-7 3.54) comes back with a vengeance in his second start of the series. Hurst goes the distance scattering 6 hits, and 1 ER. Final Score: Stockton 4 – Chicago 2
Series Summary *	Chicago won the series taking 6 games to 1, but the games & scores were closer than one would think – provided the out come of the series. Stockton heads home to face Janesville next week. Chicago stays home to face on the Quakes from California.

Detroit Stars @ California Quakes
Series Preview	Detroit and California face off in what should be a close but uninspiring series.
Game #1:	California scores 7 runs in the 8th inning to take the game 7-5.
Game #2:	California scores 14 runs in the 1st 3 innings and rides the early lead to a 14-7 win.
Game #3:	Detroit storms back with a 15-0 victory. Way too many runs between two pretty bad teams.
Game #4:	Finally a close one … Detroit wins 5-3.
Game #5:	A 3-run home run by Strawberry clinched it for a 3-2 California win.
Series Summary *	California takes the series 3-2, and continues the hot streak???

· Montana Cutthroats @ Fort Worth Panthers
Series Summary *	Ft. Worth wins the series 4 games to 3 over Montana including and offensive explosion in game two with 25 runs on 26 hits. Every Panther got at least one hit. It must have frustrated the Cutthroat defense as they committed 6 errors. Jim Rice had 6 hits, Pat Tabler had 5 hits. Lance Parrish and Gary Sheffield both hit 2 homers and Parrish had 7 RBI’s

· Manhattan Gas Hornets @ Sugar Land Skeeters
Game #1:	Manhattan dominates, 9-0. Reuschel moves to 14-6. Joyner with a HR and 3 RBI.
Game #2:	Manhattan comes from behind to win, 4-2.
Game #3:	Manhattan wins 6-0 behind Key’s CG shutout (7-4).
Game #4:	Magrane takes a 2-0 lead and a no-no into the 9th which is broken up with none out by Yount. Manhattan wins in the 10th, 3-2.
Game #5:	It again takes 10 innings for Manhattan’s 4-2 win. Leary (13-2) gets the win by going 9.
Game #6:	Jacoby has 4 RBI in a 10-4 Manhattan win. Reuschel wins again.
Game #7:	Witt pitches a 6-hit shutout as Sugar Land averts the sweep with a 4-0 win. Jay Bell has 3 RBI. Jay Bell takes out frustration against Manhattan management for the blunder that caused him to be released to free agency at the end of last year. Reports have it that he will continue to seek out ways to topple the Gas Hornets for years to come unless somehow he’s reunited with the team. He still loses sleep thinking of the dunderhead owner of the Gas Hornets who couldn’t play him enough last year to keep him!!
