1999 PROPOSALS

PROPOSAL #1 – UNIVERSAL DESIGNATED HITTER (DH)

Adopt the Designated Hitter (DH) in the National League.

1. It will help teams meet usage requirements for position players.
2. Which might give each franchise a player who is more worthy of keeping
3. Prevent an unnecessary injury to a pitcher while batting.
4. Having pitchers bat with starts from MLB AL Pitchers & having their average be skewed as they were during the same years in the Mid-West Baseball League. (See MWBL Single Season Triples leaders. In APBA there is really no reason to have the pitcher’s bat.
