| Game #2: | Hampton’s home park turns into an abattoir with the Huskies churning out 21 hits in a messy 14-4 victory. The Huskies crank out six homers including two by Bill Mueller who came into the series with one homer on the season. Mueller winds up with 4 hits and misses the cycle by a triple with BJ Surhoff enjoying his new-found playing time with a couple of hits including a homer and three RBIs. |
| Game #3: | Nearing the point where we call in for a transfusion as the bloodletting continues in a 16-1 mauling by Hampton. BJ Surhoff continues to play the role of Siva the Destroyer with five hits including a double and a homer and drives in five while Bill Mueller enjoys his newfound power with another home run as part of a three-hit, two-RBI attack. |
| Game #4: | An unexpectedly close game becomes not one thanks to Scott Hatteberg launching a grand slam in the seven-run 4th inning with Hampton taking it 9-4. SJ Surhoff once again was near godlike with three hits and two runs scored. |
| Game #5: | Bill Mueller‘s pinch hit homer with two on and the score tied 2-2 in the 7th was the difference as Hampton completed the sweep with a 6-2 win over Santa Rosa. Mueller’s homer was his 4th of the series even though he only started 3 of the 5 games … the stat gods probably were looking to reach equilibrium after Mueller went the first 125 games with 1 homer. Poor BJ Surhoff only had two hits. |
