November 15, 2003 — The crisp autumn air was filled with electricity on Saturday night as the 2003 Mid-West Winter League All-Star Game delivered a spectacular showcase of power, strategy, and late-game heroics. In a back-and-forth battle that kept fans on the edge of their seats for over three hours, the American League (A.L.) held off a relentless National League (N.L.) squad to secure a thrilling 7-5 victory. Managed brilliantly by Stray Corrado of the Chicago Demolition, the A.L. offense struck early and relied on a clutch, nail-biting bullpen performance to shut the door on Chris Douglass’s National League stars.

Garciaparra’s Triple the Difference as American League Bests National League, 2-0
In a contest defined by masterful pitching and strategic maneuvering, the American League All-Stars shut out the National League All-Stars 2-0 in the 2002 Mid-West Winter League All-Star Game. The victory marks the American League’s 26th win in the 33 All-Star games played, further cementing its command in the series rivalry.
From the first pitch, it was clear that runs would be at a premium. The game began as a classic pitcher’s duel, with both starting lineups struggling to make an impact. National League starter J. Moyer pitched a clean first inning, striking out Barry Bonds. His American League counterpart, P. Martinez, was equally impressive, tossing two perfect innings and striking out one batter. 2000 ALL-STAR GAME
The 2000 Mid-West Winter League All-Star Game was held on Saturday Night, November 11th, 2000 in the home of the Hampton Huskies.

The century has turned over to 2000 and it is that time again for the best of the best of the MWWL to face off in the annual All-Star game. This year the N.L. were our gracious hosts. But just like the 1990s, the N.L. has decided that Randy Johnson will get the start. We’ve seen over the year that it has not worked out well, he might be the best pitcher in the N.L. but maybe let’s move him to a different inning? On the flip side, the A.L. started the ridiculous Pedro Martinez. No big deal, he only went 26-3 with a 1.62 ERA while facing the best hitters to ever grace this league. 1999 ALL-STAR GAME
The 1999 Mid-West Winter League All-Star Game was held on Saturday Night, November 6th, 1999 in the home of the Hollywood Vampires.

We made it to the final all-star game of the 90s here in the Mid-West Winter League and coming into the matchup the American League has the decade lead 5-4 over the National League and are winners of the last two. 1998 was an absolute classic but what about 1999? The A.L. trotted out Kevin Brown to start the game for the second time in as many years and the N.L. is going to the well AGAIN with Randy Johnson to start. What is the definition of insanity? Some say it is just doing the same thing repeatedly expecting a different result. Well, that seems to be the case for the N.L. The struggles of Randy Johnson have been discussed multiple years in these games. The hope of the coaching staff is that this was finally the year he could break the trend of bad outings.
