VI. PLAYING THE GAME
      C.   Position Players

                   Position players may be used as pitchers in accordance with the MLB rules.

    1. Any position player may be used as a pitcher if at least one of these conditions is met:
      1. Game is in extra innings
      2. Their team is trailing by at least eight runs at any point
      3. Their team is winning by at least 10 runs in ninth inning
    2. Any position player who has a pitching card may be used at any point during a game.
  1. The current rule that “Players are only allowed to play the positions listed on their cards” was being interpreted differently by various teams in regards to position players pitching and is now being clarified. This rule will go into effect for the 2003 MWWL Regular Season.

IX. TRADING

  1. Trade Reversal Restriction
    1. Any player traded from their “Current” Team to a “New” Team during the current season may not be traded back to their Former Team during the same season or the following season. This restriction applies only to direct trade reversals between the original two teams.
      1. For any player lost via Free Agency or the Rule 5 Draft and later reacquired, this restriction does not apply.
    2. This rule will take effect on the announcement by the Commissioner’s Office (9/28/25), which coincides with a week before the 2003 Annual Draft. 
      1. Any trades completed before this date are not subject to this restriction.
    3. Definitions:
      1. Current/Former Team refers to the team that initially traded away the player.
      2. New Team refers to the team that initially received the player via trade.
      3. Current Season: The current season begins once “Off-Season Trading” (IX>B) is allowed.
